Corona Virus Safety Measures

DeAngelo Trotty

Stevenson Middle School is instituting some adjustments to our way of doing things.  Wash your hands frequently, regularly, and thoroughly clean your hands with soap and water for at least twenty seconds each time to kill any virus that may be left on your hands. Maintaining you social distance is very important, keep at least three feet between yourself and anyone who is coughing or sneezing.  When someone sneezes or coughs they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain a virus.  If you are too close, you can breath in those droplets.

Avoid touching your nose, mouth, and eyes.  Hand’s touch many surfaces and can pick up virus’.  Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose, or mouth.  From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick.  Make sure you, and the people around you, follow good respiratory hygiene.  This means covering your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze.  Then dispose of the used tissue immediately.

Stay at  home if you begin to feel unwell, even with mild symptoms such as headaches, and slight  runny nose until you recover.  Teachers, we ask  that you take time out of your classes today to address your specific recommendations to keep physical contact to a minimum  and how students can help keep the class room clean and  disinfected. Students, we are looking for donations  of  disinfectant wipes, tissues, or hand sanitizer for the classrooms.  Please bring what you can.  Governor Whitmer has declared a state of emergency.
